It's a beautiful day! The words sung by the one and only Bono could not be more true. For those of you that don't know who Bono is he happens to be the lead singer of a little band called U2. You may have heard of them. If not, it's ok for you to crawl out from under the rock you've been living under and check these guys out.
Now, as I was saying, it's a beautiful day! Summer is upon us, tourist season is in full swing and the kiddos are all out of school. The beauty of this day though is not brought to us by the summer heat or even the sound of languages from around the world in the local grocery store. Although, there is a sense of beauty to these things it is not the beauty of which I speak.
No, today the beauty of the day is of the digital kind. If you are reading this then you hopefully are also aware of the brand new Tuba City Assembly(TCA) website! This site has been a long time coming and will go far in opening up our little world to the curious eyes around us. A platform upon which we will stand and invite the world into the TCA family. That is where I find the beauty.
In Matthew 5:14 Jesus teaches us that we are "...a light unto the world" and tells us that, "a city on a hill cannot be hidden." As believers and followers of Jesus we are given a platform with great significance. A light that cannot be hidden. You do not need to be a pastor with a pulpit to impact the lives of those around you. You simply need to be a follower who is willing. Willing to be vulnerable and honest. Open and real.
That is the hope for this blog. We hope as you read these you will not only find encouragement, which don't get me wrong I hope and pray that you do, but that you will also be reminded that just as this is a God given platform to share his love with the world so is your life. The stressful, frustrating, broken mess that may be your life is a platform. Every victory, hurt, shame and gain in your life can be a platform to direct people to the life changing power we find in Jesus. Proverbs 3:6 tells us "In all our ways acknowledge Him and He will make our paths straight."
In every situation and circumstance, no matter how ugly, we acknowledge Him. Your platform is powerful and we must remember that, whether we know it or not, it is ALWAYS being watched.
"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
